RSS 2024 Workshop: Open-Set Robot Perception in the Wild

The Robotics: Science and Systems Conference (RSS) 2024 will host the full-day workshop “Open-Set Robot Perception in the Wild” on July 15th. It will focus on the problem of “open sets”, where machine learning-based perception systems are confronted with data that they have not yet seen during training. “How to address these problems in different application domains of robotics?”, “How to recognize open sets?”, “How can robots use their own observations to integrate observations of these new samples into their perception systems?” will be some of the questions addressed at the workshop. Jun. Prof. Dr. Hermann Blum, Lamarr PI and expert in Embodied AI, is organizing the workshop together with collaborators from the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the University of Sidney and ETH Zurich at TU Delft.
