Loco-Manipulation Workshop at the ICRA
The 2024 International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) will host on May 17th the “Loco-Manipulation: Algorithms, Challenges & Applications” full-day workshop. It focuses on the integration of locomotion and manipulation skills in robotics, known as loco-manipulation. The workshop explores mainly recent advancements in the field, covering topics like planning and whole-body control strategies, perception, and Machine Learning approaches, and the mechanical design of the loco-manipulation hardware. Discussions will address challenges such as balancing stability and dexterity when combining these skills. The Lamarr Institute is heavily involved in this event: Julian Eßer, Lamarr’s scientific coordinator and expert for embodied AI, is one of its organizers and Dr. Sören Kerner, Lamarr’s chair of Planning & Logistics, will give a talk on “Next Generation Robotics – Training Agile Loco-Manipulation and Human-Machine Interaction”.
