Rafet Sifa is Professor of Applied Machine Learning at the University of Bonn since 2023. At Fraunhofer IAIS, he heads the Media Engineering department and the Cognitive Business Optimization business area.
His current research focuses on the field of hybrid Machine Learning. Rafet Sifa has been teaching at the Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology (b-it) since 2020. His courses focus in particular on the topic of data mining.
Rafet Sifa completed his doctorate and master’s degree at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. His scientific work dealt with the use of Machine Learning in the context of digital games.
Prof. Sifa has written scientific reviews and co-organized a number of workshops at international conferences on topics such as Large Language and Foundation Models, Game Analytics, and Informed and Explainable Methods for Machine Learning. Some of his publications have won Best Paper Awards.
