Panel at Digital-Gipfel 2024: Edge AI – Potentials for Digital Sovereignty and Innovative AI Applications

On October 21st, 2024, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, Prof. Dr. Katharina Morik, Founding Director at the Lamarr Institute, will participate in the panel “Edge AI – Potentials for Digital Sovereignty and Innovative AI Applications” as part of the Digital-Gipfel 2024, which will be held this year in Kap Europa, Frankfurt am Main. This panel will explore the role of Edge AI technologies, which enable data processing directly at the source, such as on smartphones or factory sensors, improving data privacy and real-time responses.

The panel will address current developments in areas such as hardware research, industrial applications, and energy efficient machine learning. Applications of Edge AI include enhancing digital sovereignty and advancing innovative AI-driven solutions across sectors.

Over 1,500 participants from business, science, civil society, and politics will come together at the event. Key government officials, including Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Digital Minister Volker Wissing, and Economy Minister Robert Habeck, will discuss Germany’s digital policies and the country’s role as a digital hub.
