PD Dr. Maximilian Wintergerst heads an internationally oriented research group at University Hospital Bonn dedicated to exploring innovative ophthalmic imaging approaches and their applications in ophthalmology and uveitis research. He has published more than 80 scientific papers to date, including 32 as first or senior author, and has raised more than €1.6 million in third-party funding. As Principal Investigator of the projects presented in this press release, he is responsible, together with Prof. Dr. Thomas Schultz, for their scientific conception and implementation. His international activities include, among others, leading the Hospital Partnership between University Hospital Bonn and Sankara Eye Hospital in Bangalore, India.
