Eva Umschlag, M.A., serves as a Communications and Public Relations Officer for the Lamarr Institute at the University of Bonn. Her work focuses on the strategic conception and implementation of communication initiatives, with a particular emphasis on digital and social media communication as well as internal communications. As a content creator and editor, she is responsible for translating complex technological topics into accessible formats, ensuring that the Lamarr Institute’s research findings reach a wide audience. Additionally, she coordinates and manages the institute’s events.

Eva Umschlag holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Technical Communication and a Master’s degree in Digital Communication and Media Innovation from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. Throughout her studies, she gained extensive practical experience: Her Bachelor’s thesis at the Fraunhofer INT focused on the integration of data storytelling into foresight processes. During her Master’s studies, she worked as a student research assistant in public relations at the Fraunhofer IAIS and the competence platform KI.NRW. Her Master’s thesis examined societal perspectives on the use of generative AI in the external communication of public institutions. The findings of this research were accepted as a conference paper titled “From Efficiency to Legitimacy: Citizen Trust and Acceptance of Generative AI in Public Service Communication” for the 2026 Frontiers in Service Conference.
