Further information
Thomas Schultz heads the Visualization and Medical Image Analysis Group at the B-IT and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bonn. His group applies Machine Learning for quantitative image analysis and predictive modeling, with a specific interest in increasing interpretability and reliability by getting the human into the loop. Recent application areas have been neuroimaging, ophthalmic epidemiology, and nuclear medicine. Thomas Schultz studied Computer Science and Medical Engineering at Saarland University, Heidelberg University, and Linköping University. In 2009, he obtained his PhD in computer science from Saarland University and the MPI for Computer Science. Before coming to Bonn in 2013, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Chicago and the MPI for Intelligent Systems.
