Petra Wiederkehr studied computer science, received her doctorate in mechanical engineering from TU Dortmund University in 2010, and held a junior professorship for Modelling Methods for Machining Processes. In addition to research visits in Ireland and Canada, she was visiting professor at the OvG University in Magdeburg. Since 2017, she holds the professorship for Virtual Machining at the Department of Computer Science at TU Dortmund University and additionally the UA Ruhr Professorship. She is co-opted at the Faculty for Mechanical Engineering at TU Dortmund University and the Ruhr University Bochum. Her research is focused on modelling and optimization of manufacturing processes.
