Jörg Rahnenführer studied mathematics at the University of Düsseldorf.
In 1999, he received his doctorate in mathematics from the University of Düsseldorf. After research stays in Vienna, Berkeley, and Omaha, and as postdoctoral researcher at the Max-Planck-Institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken, he became professor for Statistical Methods in Genetics and Chemometrics at TU Dortmund University in 2007. He develops and applies statistical methods in toxicology, bioinformatics, and medicine, especially also for high-dimensional genetic data. Since 2021, Jörg Rahnenführer is the spokesperson of the DFG-funded Research Training Group 2624 Biostatistical Methods for High-Dimensional Data in Toxicology.
