Eva Schmidt is a Professor of theoretical philosophy at the Department of Philosophy and Political Science. She works in epistemology and the philosophy of mind and action. She is a PI of the project Explainable Intelligent Systems (EIS), funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. Previously, she worked at the University of Zurich in the project The Structure and Development of Understanding Actions and Reasons. She has published in journals such as Artificial Intelligence, Noûs, Philosophical Studies, and Ethics. Her book Modest Nonconceptualism: Epistemology, Phenomenology, and Content was published with Springer in 2015.
