Alice Kirchheim studied computer science at TU Hamburg. In 2011, she completed her doctorate at the University of Bremen in the Department of Production Engineering on a process for the automatic recognition of unit loads for automatic unloading. From 2014 to 2019, she worked in various companies on the planning and design of manual and automated intralogistics systems. She has been a professor since 2019, first at the University of Applied Sciences in Aalen, then at the Helmut-Schmidt-University / University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg. Since 2024, she is professor at the TU of Dortmund and is Institute Director at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML.
