Further information
Christian Glaser is an astroparticle physicist whose research bridges experimental astroparticle physics and Artificial Intelligence. His work focuses on understanding the most extreme phenomena in our universe through the study of high-energy cosmic neutrinos and cosmic rays.
After earning his doctorate at RWTH Aachen University in 2017, he was a DFG Fellow at the University of California, Irvine, before joining Uppsala University in Sweden as faculty in 2020. Since August 2025, he has been Professor of Experimental Astroparticle Physics at TU Dortmund University.
Glaser’s group contributes to leading international collaborations, including the IceCube Neutrino Observatory at the South Pole, the Radio Neutrino Observatory in Greenland, and the Pierre Auger Cosmic Ray Observatory in Argentina. A major focus for the coming years is his ERC Starting Grant project “NuRadioOpt” (awarded in 2024), which will use artificial intelligence and differential programming to significantly enhance the capabilities of next-generation neutrino detectors.
