Further information
Prof. Dr. Florian Bernlochner is an experimental particle physicist. His main research focus is the direct and indirect search for new phenomena at highest energies and intensities (with the Belle II experiment and the ATLAS experiment) and in the extreme forward direction (FASER experiment). His expertise spans the experimental and phenomenological study of beauty quarks and Higgs boson properties, and he and his group were instrumental in the first observation of collider neutrino events.
He is an expert on applying Machine Learning and pattern recognition algorithms to particle physics questions to identify decay chains or the trajectories of charged particles using detector signals.
