On this year’s Girls’ Day 2025 the Lamarr Institute introduced young, interested participants to the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). In collaboration with our partner organizations – Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Fraunhofer IAIS, Technische Universität Dortmund, and Universität Siegen – the girls had the opportunity to explore various aspects of science and technology.
At Universität Siegen, organized by Lamarr Fellow Michael Möller, participants built and programmed their own AI-powered robots using Lamarr’s hardware. They gained insights into how machines function and interact with their environment – a hands-on experience in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
At the University of Bonn, the girls explored modern research facilities in computer science, mathematics, immunology, and geodesy. Through interactive workshops and engaging activities, they learned more about the diversity and dynamism of STEM fields.
TU Dortmund also offered a range of workshops including programming microcontrollers and experimenting with computer graphics. These offerings encouraged curiosity and creativity among participants.

We would like to thank all mentors, organizers, and participants for their contributions to this successful day. The positive feedback demonstrates the importance of events like Girls’ Day in promoting interest in STEM careers.
