Panel Discussion on Sustainable AI featuring Sebastian Buschjäger, PhD

The Ruhr Region AI Strategy Talks are specifically aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the region and focus on current developments in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Those with little to no prior knowledge of these topics—or only a basic understanding—are also expressly invited to attend. Through a combination of expert input and consultation, as well as opportunities for networking among participants, the event aims to provide companies with accessible, high-quality information on suitable AI solutions.

The third “AI Strategy Evening” will take place on May 19, 2026, in Essen under the theme “GreenAI.” The focus will be on sustainable, resource-efficient AI systems. A keynote by Prof. Dr. Ana Moya titled “Between Progress and Footprint: Resource-Conscious Innovation for Sustainable Success,” as well as a panel discussion featuring Dr. Sebastian Buschjäger, Scientific Coordinator for Resource-Aware Machine Learning at the Lamarr Institute, will offer insights into relevant research and a lively discussion of the topic.

The event will be held in German. A fee of €20 applies for participation. The program, registration details, and further information can be found via the link below.
