Falling Walls Science Summit 2024: Reliable Generative AI and Industrial Competitiveness

On November 9th, 2024, from 10:00 to 10:50 AM, Dr. Mehdi Ali, Innovation Group Leader for Foundation Model Research at Fraunhofer IAIS and the Lamarr Institute, will be featured at the Falling Walls Science Summit 2024. This session, titled “Reliable Generative AI: A Key to Industrial Competitiveness,” is part of the summit’s exploration of science breakthroughs shaping the future across academia, industry, and civil society.

Dr. Ali will participate in a round table with speakers Hans-Jörg Vögel from the BMW Group, Ludwig Siegele from the Economist and Martina Schuster from ai.dopt. They will all address the transformative role of Generative AI in industry, focusing on the growing need for reliability in AI applications. The implications of dependable AI systems for sustainable economic growth and the ethical considerations essential to integrating these technologies effectively will also be key themes of the round table.

Mehdi Ali’s research group at Lamarr is actively involved in large-scale national and international projects, including OpenGPT-X, TrustLLM, and EuroLingua-GPT, all aimed at advancing robust Large Language Models. His research focuses on foundation models and knowledge graph representation learning.
