AI Colloquium with Prof. Dr. Alexander Marx

The AI Colloquium, organized by the Lamarr Institute, the Research Center Trustworthy Data Science and Security (RC Trust) and the Center for Data Science & Simulation at TU Dortmund University (DoDas), provides a platform for leading researchers to present groundbreaking work in the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. These 90-minute sessions, which usually take place on Thursdays at 10 a.m. c.t., unlike other colloquia, focus on interactive dialog and international collaboration and include one-hour lectures and 30-minute Q&A sessions. The colloquium will be held mainly in English. The hybrid format of the colloquium ensures that all interested parties can participate in person in the lecture hall at Fraunhofer Straße 25 in Dortmund or online via our Lamarr YouTube channel. On June 27th, the AI Colloquium welcomes Prof. Dr. Alexander Marx as its next speaker with a keynote entitled “Causal Discovery under Scaled Noise: Identifiability and Robust Estimation”.

Prof. Dr. Alexander Marx

His research is at the intersection of causality and Machine Learning, focusing on causal discovery, causal representation learning, information theory, and Bayesian deep learning. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the Computational Biology Group at ETH Zürich, a postdoc fellow at the ETH AI Center, and part of the Medical Data Science Group. He did his PhD in the Exploratory Data Analysis group affiliated with the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security and the Max Planck Institute for Informatics.
