AI Colloquium in June

The AI Colloquium, organized by the Lamarr Institute, the Research Center Trustworthy Data Science and Security (RC Trust) and the Center for Data Science & Simulation at TU Dortmund University (DoDas), provides a platform for leading researchers to present groundbreaking work in the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. These 90-minute sessions, which usually take place on Thursdays at 10 a.m. c.t., unlike other colloquia, focus on interactive dialog and international collaboration and include one-hour lectures and 30-minute Q&A sessions. The colloquium will be held mainly in English. The hybrid format of the colloquium ensures that all interested parties can participate in person in the lecture hall at Fraunhofer Straße 25 in Dortmund or online via our Lamarr YouTube channel. On June 20th, the AI Colloquium welcomes PD Dr. Thea Radüntz as its next speaker with a keynote entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Occupational Safety and Health”.

PD Dr. Thea Radüntz

Thea Radüntz is an expert in biosignal processing and pattern recognition, with advanced degrees from the Humboldt University. She began her career as a research assistant on a Volkswagen-funded driver-fatigue detection project. She then worked at the European Commission and an IT-consulting firm in Berlin. Radüntz conducted research on 3D-TOF face recognition at the Berlin University of Technology before focusing once again on biosignal processing and neurophysiology at the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, managing the neurophysiological lab from 2011 to 2023. Since 2024, she has led the department of Artificial Intelligence in work systems.
