AI Colloquium with Prof. Dr. João Gama
The AI Colloquium, organized by the Lamarr Institute, the Research Center Trustworthy Data Science and Security (RC Trust) and the Center for Data Science & Simulation at TU Dortmund University (DoDas), provides a platform for leading researchers to present groundbreaking work in the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. These 90-minute sessions, which usually take place on Thursdays at 10 a.m. c.t., unlike other colloquia, focus on interactive dialog and international collaboration and include one-hour lectures and 30-minute Q&A sessions. The colloquium will be held mainly in English. The hybrid format of the colloquium ensures that all interested parties can participate in person in the lecture hall at Fraunhofer Straße 25 in Dortmund or online via our Lamarr YouTube channel. On July 11th, the AI Colloquium welcomes Prof. Dr. João Gama as its next speaker with a keynote entitled “Recent Advances in Learning from Data Streams”.
João Gama
João Gama works at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support of the University of Porto (Portugal) and is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Economics of the same university. His research interests encompass learning from data streams, ensembles of classifiers, constructive induction and probabilistic reasoning. After recieving his PhD in Computer Science (University of Porto, 2000), João Gama became a EurAI Fellow, a IEEE Fellow, a Asia-Pacific AI Association Fellow, a member of the board of directors of the LIAAD (group belonging to INESC Tec) and a editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Data Science and Analytics, published by Springer.
